On
the 19th March 2001, Queen were finally inducted into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of FamE!
The
induction took place in New York at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. Other inductees
included Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, Paul Simon and Steely Dan.
On the
night of the induction Brian and Roger performed We Will Rock You (with
two others playing keyboard and bass), Roger and Brian took turns on
vocals. John didn't attend.
Afterwards,
they were joined by Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters to
perform a great version of Tie Your Mother Down with Dave Grohl on vocals.
About
an hour later, Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins gave Queen's induction
speech. Freddie's mum, Jer, was present to accept Freddie's award on his
behalf.
